John Kerry's Low Estimation of College Students by Ted Slater on Nov 1, 2006 at 9:29 AM

You're probably aware of Senator John F. Kerry's heartfelt antipathy for our troops, as expressed during a recent talk at Pasadena City College:

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

His denigration of the U.S. military is obviously repulsive.

But, while subtle, Kerry is also revealing his low estimation of college students. He wasn't delivering his arrogant ridicule before his colleagues or businessmen or union employees. He was delivering his dumbed-down speech at a college, his likely assumption being that these college students shared his disdain for the military, and would latch on with glee to his scorn.

It takes a man with a unique speaking ability to so quickly offend both the U.S. military and college students.
